Join Me At The Sea Ranch

  • Malibu, California (map)

It was Noguchi who said, “we are a landscape of all that we have seen”. In this workshop, we will explore our relationship to the environment while discovering our body’s deep sense of memory and time.

Stones are the bones of the earth: living vessels, enriched bodies of cosmic material. When we pick up a stone, we hold in the palm of our hand a piece of life. Like human beings, no two bodies of stone are exactly the same — and yet uniquely crafted, weathered, and sculpted by the visible and invisible forces of time and space.

During this workshop, we will explore what it means still ourselves, in order to listen to deep time with soft hands. Using stones as mirrors of the body, we will observe the textures of history, allowing our hands to trace the organic patterns of the materials memory. Together, we will reflect and translate the stories of stone, whilst surfacing the secrets of their hidden nature.
